Arthur in Surrey, England

Address Posture:   tilt over more from the hip joints.

Back Swing:
1) try to keep right knee at original address angle until into downswing.
2) try to keep right elbow pointing to ground until you hit the ball.

Jane in Edinburgh, Scotland

Address:   keep your right elbow a little lower than and a little closer to, the left elbow.

Back Swing:
1) as you swing back feel your weight moving into your right shoe.
2) keep your right elbow in front of your right hip (i.e. nearer the ball) at the top of the backswing.

Tom in Wales, age 14

Address:   your posture is good.
Stand a little further from the ball so your hands are directly under your nose.

Grip:
1) right hand should be a little more on top of the shaft (i.e. turn it left a little).
2) right thumb not on top of the grip but pinching the club between thumb and forefinger.

Back Swing:
as you swing back feel your weight moving into your right shoe.

Down Swing:
1) keep your spine angle as it was in the address position until you hit the ball.
2) try to keep your right heel on the ground until you hit the ball.
3) feel your arms and body are turning together and the ball is swept away (not chopped away as you are doing).

Julio in Spain, August '06

Address:   your posture is good.

Back Swing:
keep your right knee at the angle it was at the address until into the downswing. (This will stop your right leg straightening and your tummy button turning 90 deg in the back swing. It will simplify and tighten your back swing and so give you a much more consistent strike and a straighter ball flight.)

Julio's reply. Sept. '06

Gracias, Gracias. I never hit ball so straight and so far, before you tell me what to do. Handicap 10 now is 8.
